TPT store banner size in 2026: 1200×320, not 718×90

Search "TPT store banner size" and nearly every result — seller blogs, tutorials, even paid banner templates sold on TPT itself — says 718×90 pixels. TPT's own help centre says something different, and its page was updated in July 2026: "we recommend that your leaderboard banner image be at least 1200 × 320 pixels."

Why the internet still says 718×90

718×90 was the banner spec for years, so the guides written then rank now — and template packs built to it are still on sale. A 718×90 image stretched into today's larger, taller banner slot comes out soft and pixelated, which is precisely the "why does my banner look blurry?" thread you'll find in seller forums. If a guide quotes 718×90 (or its 160×200 "column banner" cousin from the same era), it predates the redesign; treat everything else it says about image specs with suspicion too.

Making one that looks sharp

Build at 2400×640 (double the minimum) and let it scale down — downscaling keeps text crisp, upscaling never does. Keep your store name and tagline in the middle ~80% of the width: banner edges are the part most likely to be cropped as the layout flexes across screen sizes. Export as JPEG at 85% quality for photographic banners, PNG for flat graphics with hard edges.

Spec checked September 2026 against TPT's help centre ("How do I add or update my store banner?", page updated 27 July 2026); TPT can change it — their help centre is the authority, and if this page and a TPT page ever disagree, believe theirs. Not affiliated with TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers).
