TPT specs (checked August 2026): covers and the up-to-3 extra thumbnails should be square, at least 750×750, under 4MB. Rectangular uploads get auto-cropped to square — which is exactly how titles lose their first and last letters. "Fit with white borders" is the no-crop answer.
